Characterization of Protein Libraries by Mass Spectrometry

Our laboratory is focused on developing new mass spectrometry based methods for measuring protein mixtures.  Three of the challenges of designing mixtures of proteins with a specific function is characterizing that the proteins are adequately produced, that they have the appropriate function or predicted multimeric structure, and that they have the structure that was predicted from ab initio modeling.  We are developing high throughput methods to solve these problems.  WRD-IPD Fellows working in our lab will improve and apply new methods to characterize the adequate protein expression, activity, and structure of protein libraries made within the protein production core.
